Day 1 | December 8: On Your Way
Board your overnight flight to Germany and get ready for a week full of holiday cheer.
Day 2 | December 9: Regensburg, Germany
Arrive in Regensburg, a charming Bavarian city that turns into a festive wonderland every December. Spend the day exploring on your own, then join the group for a welcome dinner.

Day 3 | December 10: Regensburg
Tour one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities with a local guide. You’ll see the Old Stone Bridge over the Danube and the Porta Praetoria, a Roman gate dating to A.D. 179, and stop for a tasting of Bavarian favorites. Your afternoon is free to enjoy the Old Town markets, or add the optional Romantic Christmas Market at Thurn and Taxis Palace ($79).

Day 4 | December 11: Rothenburg ob der Tauber & Freiburg
Step back in time in storybook Rothenburg ob der Tauber and visit the German Christmas Museum, filled with glass ornaments, nutcrackers, Santas and Christmas pyramids. Then head to Freiburg at the edge of the Black Forest, your home for the next three nights, for a cozy dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 | December 12: Freiburg
Hop on a streetcar into the Old Town and pick your guided tour: a historic walk through medieval streets and landmarks, or a festive tour all about Freiburg’s Christmas traditions. Your afternoon is free for the markets.

Day 6 | December 13: Strasbourg, France
Spend the day in Strasbourg, known as the “Capital of Christmas.” Take a guided tour of the Petite France quarter and the Cathedral of Notre Dame, enjoy free time in the markets, and finish with a classic Alsatian dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7 | December 14: Colmar & Lucerne, Switzerland
Wander the cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses of fairytale Colmar, all lit up for the holidays. Then continue on to Lucerne, tucked between the mountains and the lake.
